The Season of Divine Exposure: God Is Refining You for the Climb

In this season, God will expose you to you. It’s meant to bring you growth and maturity. As God does this, it will feel painful at first. He will draw out the things in your life that do not align with who He is. He has to draw out the impurities so that you can see them. This is a season where you get to deal with all the things in your life that are a hindrance to your walk with God. You are in a completely new season. The things of the old cannot go where He is taking you. He is preparing you for your next.

”No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful!
But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living
for those who are trained in this way.”
-Hebrews 12:11 (NLT)

Elevation Requires Greater Dependence:
The higher up the mountain of God that you go, the thinner, the air is. The thinner the air gets you will need more and more of Him. As you approach the higher parts of the mountain in your walk with God, you will not be able to go further without Him. This is one of the reasons why you have to learn to depend on the living God alone.

When you get to a certain point in your walk with God the path is so narrow, and in that place, you start to see things from a higher perspective. Not everyone around you has said “yes” to God in each season of their walk with God. They will be at a different level than you are in different areas of their life. For this reason, most people around you will not understand you. Though be encouraged because this is not a bad thing. Give the same grace, mercy, and compassion to the others around you just as God gave it to you. It is okay if others do not understand your walk with God, it matters that you hear and obey the voice of the Lord. It matters what God thinks and what He says about every area of your life.

Seeking God’s Strategies for Every Step:
As you go with your yes to God, higher up the mountain in your walk with God, ask God for the strategies that will help you walk your life here on Earth. You must use Kingdom of Heaven strategies for all areas of your life and even how to deal with the people in your life that you are around consistently. Time and time again you may have seen in your life that when you apply your own strategies from your own understanding, it doesn’t work. You must seek the Lord and ask the questions that you need to ask.

Trade Negative Thinking for Kingdom Strategy:
Instead of grumbling, complaining, feeling hurt, feeling frustrated, as well as other feelings you may have, I encourage you to stop and pray for those things that are causing you those feelings. Imagine what would happen if you invested all the time you spend on negative thinking and turned it all into prayer time applying the strategies of the kingdom of heaven What that would do for you. Read Philippians 4:6again. Watch where your thoughts are going. Guard yourself from the loop of lies from situations that have happened in the past. By giving in to this loop of lies, it is causing you a lot of unnecessary pain and frustration. In the process, you’re causing frustration to those around you; especially those you live with.

You have a free will, which is something God gave to you. In each situation and circumstance, in every thought and thought process, and in every interaction with a person, you have the choice to either apply the kingdom strategy or your own strategy.

Some of what feels like mental torment of endless negative thoughts from pass situations, hasn’t ended because you keep giving in to the loop of lies. Every time you come into agreement with that lie or lies, you are allowing the enemy access. Guard your heart for everything you do flows from it (Proverbs 4:23).

I will leave you with this: what are you planting in the garden of your mind of your heart?

Lastly, after you ask the Holy Spirit the question above, take 10 minutes to just listen. Then, write down what he tells you and let God help you be set free.

And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children?[d] He said,

“My child,[e] don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t give up when he corrects you.
For the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”[f]
-Hebrews 12:5-6 (NLT)
