Embracing God’s Training: Joy in the Process of Preparation

Over the summer, I have been going through what’s felt like a demolition to bring finality to certain things; to bring growth and maturity in certain areas.  I know God has been preparing me for a thing.  He would never want me, or anyone, to go forth into our purpose/calling without being prepared.  If we are not prepared to hold up what He is about to give us, then we will fall under it.  Here is a word of encouragement for you:

Embrace the process of preparation with joy for the joy set before you.  Jesus left you an example of that.  He left you an example of the attitude of how to handle your adventures with God.  It wasn’t easy for Jesus either.  The path is narrow and no one said it’s suppose to be easy; though it is easier when we cling on to Christ in The Secret Place.

You must continue to grow, mature, build stamina, endurance, balance, develop Kingdom Mindsets etc.  In order to do this, He will show what it is that we need to break agreements with and let go.  This part is called making more room for Him.  No, as a human it doesn’t feel fair to go through so many trials BUT God disciplines those He LOVES.  He loves you.  So trust that He knows how to train and teach you.

He Himself trains your hands for war and gives your fingers skills to battle (Psalm 144:1). You don’t determine what your training looks like.  So correct that attitude towards the process and see through HIS lens and perspective.  Command that flesh to be surrendered to the spirit of the living God (which includes your mind will and emotions).  God does allow situations and circumstances in your life for training you.  God does allow situations and circumstances to surface our own flaws so that you may see what it is that needs to be let go of.  Be grateful that we have such a loving father that knows how to discipline us and love us.  Embrace the process with joy for the joy set before you!

You are creating a path for others to follow.  The process you walk through is breaking off a lot of junk not only in your life but also in your bloodline.  The things you overcome, after you overcome them you gain authority from the Kingdom of Heaven over them. You won’t always know why but you don’t need to know why.  You are to learn how to fully trust and depend on your Lord and Savior; the spirit of the LIVING GOD.  If He always told you why, you won’t learn what He knows you need to learn.

Teachers in classrooms teach lessons for a period of time with some homework to help retain information.  At the end of each quarter, they do a review of the whole quarter to prepare for the test.  Then comes the test.  A teacher is silent during the test.  So it is with your life too.  Pay attention! Embrace the process with joy for the joy set before you!

It truly is an honor to walk this path with Christ as He prepares to position you for what you are called to.  In order to steward well, you must prepare well.  Embrace the process with joy for the joy set before you!  You’ve got this.

Read the entire Hebrews 12 because the whole chapter applies.

“Praise the Lord, who is my rock.
He trains my hands for war
and gives my fingers skill for battle.”
-Psalm 144:1

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people;[c] then you won’t become weary and give up. 4 After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.”
-Hebrews 12:1-4

“5 And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children?[d] He said,

“My child,[e] don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you.
6 For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”[f]

7 As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? 8 If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. 9 Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?[g] “
-Hebrews 12:5-9

“10 For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. 11 No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

12 So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.13 Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.”

-Hebrews 10-13
