The lifestyle of today is so different than it was even in the 80’s or 90’s; as well as before that. Today the lifestyle seems to be so much more busy. It doesn’t help that we now have cell phones to distract us if we are not disciplined in our time and usage.
We get easily distracted with the technology that we forget how much time passes by while you do the “scroll of doom” on your phones and other devices.
Now, with this level of a busy lifestyle it still doesn’t change the fact that you must discipline yourself to give daily God time. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. One of his primary targets is making sure you don’t spend a lot (if any) time in prayer, reading the word, and connecting with the circle of people He gave you for your walk with Christ.
It is vital that you spend time with God in the secret place. God already sees all and knows all. He waits for you to linger (hang around) long enough to hear Him speak the things you need to hear or things that He just wants to share with you. He wants you to let Him minister to you deeply. He longs for that kind of time because He loves you so much more than you realize. After all, He died on the cross and came back to life with you in mind. He embraced the process with joy for the joy set before Him. It wasn’t easy for Him but He knew what it would bring afterwords.
Are you just speaking away or are you spending time to listen to His voice as well? Please do not treat time with God to use in emergency only. It is a daily choice of lifestyle to walk with Christ. To go higher you must spend time on your knees.
Go before Him daily, turn on some instrumental worship of that helps you, and say, “here I am God listening speak to me.” Then, just close your eyes and wait. He will speak to you.
We all have things in our life like work, family, and may other things that keep us busy. To keep Christ first is a choice. Ask God to create the time and space for your time with Him. Let Him lead you in that. Also ask Him if there are any things you have your hands on that you’re not suppose to. He will show you. One can’t be too busy for God.
Afterall, He is to be the first love of your life. If he is not first, then what has taken that place? Whatever it is, is equivalent to worshipping an idol. Be open to His Spirt on the review of yourself and your life. Re-organize and re-prioritize as needed to get yourself back on track with keeping God first and seeing Him as well as taking time to listening for what He has to say.
Oh and one more thing! Don’t forget to journal everything He tells you!
Blessings in Abundance!
“The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
