The Battlefield of the Mind: How to Resist the Enemy’s Lies and Stand Firm in Faith

Your mind is the greatest battle field.  The only way the enemy can get access to you and your life is if you give him agreement.  Satans hope is that you will come into agreement with any of the lies that he swirls around you.

If you’re not cautious you end up in high frustrations, irritations, and quarrels with people you love when it’s the whispers of lies of the enemy that’s swirling around you in that moment. The whispers of the enemy isn’t always a direct whisper. Most times it looks like the thoughts in your mind. This is one of the few ways the enemys dart comes at you. Pay attention to the type of thoughts you’re having and how often you’re having them. Take a step back and ask the Holy Spirit to give you His perspective on what you’re dealing with.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable,
and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think
about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
-Philippians 4:8

The Armor of God
You must learn to put on the full armor of God daily. It’s you who gets to choose the direction of your day.  So start your day with God and surrender the day into the control of the hands of your living God and then speak out to put on the armor of God to guard yourself from the darts of the enemy. Go and read Ephesians 6:10-18 and ask the Holy Spirit to open your understanding to each piece of the armor of God and what they do for you.

The enemy loves to attempt to throw darts at you the moment you wake up as well as the moments you are connecting with your household members and others.  The reason is once again to get you come into agreement with something opposite of what God says. This is the second of the few ways the enemy tries get access to you. Satan CANNOT touch you so the other way he tries is to use the people closest to you through their actions and words. The enemy then starts twisting those actions/words to try and affect your perpsective in hopes that you will accept the presented assumption instead of applying how God says to handle it. So before you go to sleep, pray for that time that you wake up and pray for that time you connect with those you love with.  Armor up. Be one step ahead.

Be vigilant of the enemy and diligent in the things of God.

Watch Your Focus
Be careful not to keep primary focus on the enemy. Your focus should be on Christ your rock and kinsman redeemer.  Christ Himself is your peace. No situation or circumstance can take that away from you. It only feels like it’s taken away when you choose to focus more on the stuff you’re going through.

“For we live by believing and not by seeing.”
-2 Corinthians 5:7

The tactics of the enemy has not changed since the time in the garden with Eve.  Learn from that experience.  This is a year that you get the opportunity to pick up your sword and use it like never before.  Your sword is the written word of the Lord.  Speak them out over yourself and all areas of your life as well as over all situations and circumstances you’re going through.

The Power of Your Words
Words have power to create.  So what are you creating in your atmosphere and life.  Are you even using your voice to shift things in your life? When is the last time you intentionally sat down with a battle plan in the secret place and prayed for yourself, your spouse, your family, your situations/circumstances, relationships, health, etc. ? When you speak over yourself, your household, and others in your daily life, are you speaking blessings, agreeing with enemy arrows, or speaking using your sword to bring changes in their life? The things you release into the atmosphere DOES manifest in the natural the more you agree with it; whether its positive or negative. Ask the Holy Spirit to upon your eyes and understanding to the power of your words.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek,
and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks
finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
-Luke 11:9-10

You Are Not Alone
You’re not the only one going through what you are going through. Your other brothers and sisters in Christ go through similar things as well. Don’t allow the whispers of lies make you believe you are lonely in everything because you are not. God understands you, speaks to you in ways He knows you will understand it, and He reminds you of what you need to remember at the right times. You are a child of the living God and you were made in His image to reflect His magnificent glory. You’ve got this by His spirit!

Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a
roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him,
because you know that other believers in all the world are going through the same
kind of sufferings. 10 But after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all
grace, who calls you to share his eternal glory in union with Christ, will himself
perfect you and give you firmness, strength, and a sure foundation.
11 To him be the power forever! Amen.”
-1 Peter 5:8-11

17 If someone has done you wrong, do not repay him with a wrong.
Try to do what everyone considers to be good. 18 Do everything possible
on your part to live in peace with everybody. 19 Never take revenge,
my friends, but instead let God’s anger do it. For the scripture says,
“I will take revenge, I will pay back, says the Lord.” 20 Instead, as the
scripture says: “If your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are
thirsty, give them a drink; for by doing this you will make them burn
with shame.” 21 Do not let evil defeat you; instead, conquer evil with good.”
-Romans 12:17-21
