Your faith requires action to go along with it in order to produce any results. The faith you have in God, cannot be seen by others until an action follows it. It is when the action is applied by putting your faith in God that will enable results. The results are what people see. By the outcome of the results, others can actually see the measure of faith that you have. As you step out, it begins to move the hand of God to start physically manifesting the ultimate vision or goal He has given you.
The Bible tells us clearly that faith without works is dead and useless. Let’s take a look:
“14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters if you say you have faith
but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?
15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing,1
6 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”
—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing.
What good does that do?
17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough.
Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.”
-James 2:14-17
Now, no one can do your action for you. For example, let’s say God gives you a task. You take that task in prayer to ask God for confirmation and you get the confirmations that you need. After this, the next thing God will give you is the first step towards starting that task. If you do not apply that step and do it, are you going to get that task started at all? Is anything going to happen with it at all? The answer is no. You are not going to see any results. The plan of God for that task will move along as you take your steps one by one. As you take those steps, you will see the hand of God move and the plans of God for that given task will unfold before your very eyes. It is when you actually take the steps that your task will physically start to manifest. If you don’t take the steps, nothing will happen. Simple.
Now, I am going to keep it real. How many times when you don’t see the given task(s) or vision(s) not make any progress and you get so frustrated that you actually take it out on God? Think about that for a moment…
The fact of the matter is that He gave you a step and your natural mind processed it in such a way that it was disregarded. It didn’t make any sense to your mind, so you didn’t want anything to do with the answer God gave you. Then you continued praying and what ended up happening is you are now wondering why God isn’t answering you or why it hasn’t even moved an inch.
Then you sit here wondering, “God you are so faithful to your promises then why hasn’t this happened?” You start getting super emotional. This causes a great unnecessary process in your life that you put upon yourself by disobeying Gods direction(s). You then start to go through discouragement, frustration, anger, and even growing cold towards God. When all He did was answer your prayer but it was you that chose not to respond just because it didn’t make sense to you.
“13 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain
town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.”
14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow?
Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.
15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”
16 Otherwise, you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil.
17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.”
-James 4:13-17 (NLT)
Obedience is a great crucial “key” in our walk with God. Until you respond by mixing the faith you have with taking action on the one step God gave you, nothing is going to move. You take that step and then He will give you the next step. You complete the next step and then He will give you another. One step at a time you will then accomplish the goal, vision, and/or task that God gave you.
Yes, God has a perfect timing but your faith mixed with action is what is going to bring you results. It could be that this process has lasted either months or years for you. If this is so, I would highly suggest that you go before God and look back at that process and see if you responded to that last step God gave you. Ask The Holy Spirit to give you clarity on your situation. Don’t ever forget that you have The Holy Spirit as your helper. He is there to help you remember things and to guide you. It is okay to ask Him for help.
“15 “If you love me, obey my commandments. 1
6 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,
who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.
The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him
and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him because
he lives with you now and later will be in you.”
-John 14:15-17 (NLT)
“7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away,
because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come.
If I do go away, then I will send him to you.”
-John 16:7 (NLT)
“26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative
—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything
and will remind you of everything I have told you.”
-John 14:26
Now, remember, the way God does things is completely beyond our understanding. He thinks out of the box. Your natural mind just cannot grasp or comprehend it. He has called us to walk by faith and NOT by sight. This is a process of trust. Do you trust God?
“8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
-Isaiah 55:8-9
“…“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”
-1 Corinthians 2:9
In this hour, God is doing something new. Ask your Heavenly Father to place His lens over your eyes so that you will be able to see yourself, those around you and all your situations and circumstances through His eyes and not your own. You see, just from this one act of disobedience, you started an unnecessary negative process that has also domino affected all aspects of your life because you allowed it to affect your emotions rather than actually releasing it to God under the blood of Jesus. At the time you ignored Gods answer to your prayer, it did not seem like disobedience but it was. He is showing you that today and simply because He loves you and wants you to be set free. What parent wants to see their child in distress? In the same way, your Heavenly Father loves you and cares for you. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He never changed and He never will.
“18 “But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
19 For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
20 The wild animals in the fields will thank me,
the jackals and owls, too,
for giving them water in the desert.
Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland
so my chosen people can be refreshed.
21 I have made Israel for myself,
and they will someday honor me before the whole world.
22 “But, dear family of Jacob, you refuse to ask for my help.
You have grown tired of me, O Israel!
23 You have not brought me sheep or goats for burnt offerings.
You have not honored me with sacrifices,
though I have not burdened and wearied you
with requests for grain offerings and frankincense.
24 You have not brought me fragrant calamus
or pleased me with the fat from sacrifices.
Instead, you have burdened me with your sins
and wearied me with your faults.”
-Isaiah 43:18-24
Be careful about taking it out on God and blaming Him as this is sin. Start to praise God like Job did that you may not sin by blaming God.
“20 Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. 21 He said,
“I came naked from my mother’s womb,
and I will be naked when I leave.
The Lord gave me what I had,
and the Lord has taken it away.
Praise the name of the Lord!”
22 In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.”
-Job 1:20-22
Do not forget that reap what we sow. There are consequences to your actions. If you chose unwisely, you cannot blame God. But here is what you can do:
- Repent of the disobedience of not obeying Gods given step(s)
- Repent for the sin of blaming God for your situations and circumstances.
- Then ask Him for His forgiveness.
You ask wholeheartedly and you WILL receive.
7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find.
Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives.
Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.:
-Matthew 7:7-8
9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?
10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!
11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
-Matthew 7:7-11
“13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate.
The highway to hell[f] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.
14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”
-Matthew 7:13-14
He never leaves us or forsakes us. He is still there watching and listening to you. Since you decided you wanted it your way, He only took a step back for a moment.
Our God is a God of love. God loves you and will welcome you with open arms. He has so much love to bestow upon you that you wouldn’t know what to do with it. It is never too late to refresh and restart your walk with God. It is never too late.
