have compassion.

God has really been on the move.  There has been some new things happening as part of His learning process. One of the things He is highlighting is having compassion for others; especially those who have less than what we may have.

Define compassion; noun

sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.

I would like to share 3 events that God allowed me to go through in order to experience this compassion.  Before I do, I want you to know that since this summer I have yielded completely to allow the fire of Gods love to cleanse and purify my whole being.  Since then, God has allowed me to go through many things to give me a one on one experience.

Event 1: Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Last Wednesday, I was on my way to drive home when the Holy Spirit said for me to go grab a drink from Chick-Fil-A.  Now I needed to get to the bus stop, but the Holy Spirit ensured me that it will be fine.  So I obeyed and went to Chick-Fil-A.  As I was turning at the 3-way stop, I noticed a man with two youth sons with a sign asking for help.  I didn’t read the sign all the way, but I heard, “have compassion.”  I went got my drink and as I drove past them again I heard, “have compassion”.  So, I went home, had to switch from the truck to my SUV and wait at the bus stop for the kids.  The entire time I sat in the car, I could not get my mind off that man and his sons.  My heart had out of nowhere that day started feeling a deep concern for them and my heart was beating fast.  I could feel the kind of compassion Jesus had for people.

As soon as the kids got in the car, I drove off to Chick-Fil-A and knew exactly what God was asking me to do.  The kids were wondering why I wasn’t going straight home.  After we parked the car, I explained to the kids we will go get you some food but do you see that man with his two boys standing there with the sign?  They said, “yes we see them”.  Then I told the kids, “They don’t have anything to eat, so we are going to go get them some food.  It is more important that we hurry and go take care of them.”  The kids were quiet as they were processing what is happening.

We got the food and drinks and I drove near them and parked the car.  I called out to them and they all ran over.  Suddenly, I didn’t feel like myself anymore.  The Holy Spirit fully took over.  I handed them the food and first I asked if they knew Jesus and if they go to church.  The man spoke Spanish and a little bit of English.  He answered, “Yes, I know Jesus and I do have a church.”  He told me he also has a daughter. I told him lets just pray and God will tell you what He needs to.  Then, I cannot properly explain in words the powerful prayer that the Holy Spirit put to my lips that day.  After praying, when I opened my eyes, I will never forget the look on that man’s face.  He was almost in tears and looking at me as if He saw Jesus in me.  I knew and could feel that I was an answer to his prayer literally.  As led by the Holy Spirit, I spoke and release the words that was put to my mouth to speak.  Those words gave this man so much hope!  It was what he needed and I know he was praying and God answered him.  Then I left.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU ARE ANSWER TO SOMEONE ELSES PRAYER! IT IS CRUCIAL TO OBEY THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!  HE IS THERE FOR A REASON!

Event 2: Tuesday, October 10, 2017

Now, today I went to get my nails done just to relax.  During that time, I kept sensing that I should go get my food from Taco Time after I was done.  Honestly, I hadn’t eaten all day but was going to wait and eat at home.  Now, again it was close to the time to go the bus stop to pickup my kids again.  After I was done, I felt the urge strongly to go so I went and ordered a burrito and got a cup of water.

I drove off to leave and the Holy Spirit told me to turn in a different direction than I normally would to go towards home.  Of course I obeyed the Holy Spirit and not even a minute later on the right side I saw a man with a bicycle and there was a bunch of stuff tied on it. I wasn’t really sure what was going on there.  A few seconds later, the Holy Spirit says, “If I told you to go give your food to that man, would you?”  I was confused because I didn’t understand the situation at that moment but I replied, “of course I would.”   So, the Holy Spirit said turn your car and go drive past him.  As I approached, I could see he was digging around for something and was homeless; as he had all his stuff with him on the bike.  I rolled down my window and asked, “have you eaten anything yet?”  This man answered with a quiet and low voice, “I was trying to look for something.”  I wasted no time and grabbed my food and said, “here take this and here is water for you.”  Again, I will never forget the look on this mans face.  He was actually so silent.  His face said a million words!  I had to leave for the bus stop but I told him, “Jesus loves you and is watching out for you.”

HAVE COMPASSION ON OTHERS!

Event 3: Tuesday, October 10, 2017

So, in the late afternoon of the same day, I had to take my niece for a haircut appointment.  Next door, there was a food place and I was still willing to wait to get home and eat.  For some reason, I felt the need to go there.  The Holy Spirit said, “after she is settled go next door for just a little bit.”  While my niece was getting her haircut I told her I am running next door and will be back in just 20 minutes.  I went and the Holy Spirit said, “Go ahead get yourself something to eat.  So, I did just as I was told.  During the time, I walked over and throughout my time eating I found myself looking for an opportunity to help someone; to have compassion on them.  As I was walking out of the place, I heard, “see now you are looking to be able to have compassion on someone.”

God works in amazing ways!  He knows what it will take for each of us to learn.

Body of Christ, we are the light of world and the salt of the Earth!  Jesus had compassion on others, so we must have compassion on others.  We were made in Gods image and we ARE the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth!  Our living God is compassionate towards others, towards us!

Ask the Holy Spirit to open your spiritual eyes to the needs of those that may just be around where you live or wherever you go.  Have compassion on others regardless of who they are and how they are.  Compassion is the greatest form of love that humans can offer.  Jesus had compassion on all of us when he died on that cross.  Compassion is an “attitude” of your heart.  Sometimes God allows us to go through circumstances so that you can lead others out of it.

Scriptures

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
ensure justice for those being crushed.
Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice. – Proverbs 31:8-9

“34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,[a] you were doing it to me!’

41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.[b] 42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’

45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’

46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.” – Matthew 25:34-46 NLT

All the praise, honor, and glory be to our sovereign God alone! Thank you Jesus!
