You’ve been waiting for so long that you feel frustrated. It’s been so long that you’ve also started to doubt Gods promises? Is that you? Let me ask you something: Is there anything God asked you to do and you just have not done it yet?
I am here to remind you that God’s promises are yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). I am here to also remind you that every word He sends forth never returns to Him void (Isaiah 55:11). Now, you have free will over all your choices. If God gave you a step or direction and you choose not to do it, He won’t give you another until you do that step. That step is important to prepare you for that next one.
You can’t just not do a step that He gave you and expect Him to do His part. You were given directions in the way He gave it to you for a reason. Are you delaying doing that step just because you don’t want to do it that way? Does it feel like it will take too much work? Or you simply don’t want to do it?
You asked Him to speak to you and give you clarity, steps, directions, etc. but when He answered you decided you don’t want to do it; or you didn’t agree with how He wanted you to do it. Then, you continued to ask and He didn’t say anything back aside from the occasional reminder of what He told you to do last. Each time you pushed it to the side hoping He will answer you in the way you want to hear it.
As a reminder, He won’t give you another step until you obey the one He gave you last. The directions He gave you will prepare you for your next step. The way He chose you to do it, is what He says is the best way to do it. It’s the best next step for you. He is not trying to be unfair.
For example: in John 9, when Jesus asked the blind beggar to go wash himself in the pool of Siloam, He wasn’t being unfair. Jesus knew everything about him and He decided that this man needed to take steps of faith for this healing. It gave the man the opportunity to increase the mans faith and to apply action to faith in Jesus. This is the way it was needed for this man. After He obeyed, He was able to see.
Just like when a parent needs to teach, train, and bring growth in an area for their child. The parent knows their child and knows what will and will not work for their child. In the moment, they will then choose the best approach for the topic that child needs to learn and have growth in.
It’s no different for you. Trust God on “HOW” he chooses to lead, teach, train and grow you. He has already laid out the path for your life. The question is are you willing to do this HIS way?
“For we live by believing and not by seeing.”
-2 Corinthians 5:7
