This morning as I sat to read the Bible with my youngest son, the story of Daniel in the Lions Den was so strong through the spirit of God. I believe and can sense that many in the body of Christ are so pressed on all sides by a combination of their situations, circumstances, as well as the pressure of the dark world of Satan. Let’s be honest here, the fiery darts lately have been more intense than usual. I am included in all this.
Let take a look at the story of Daniel in the Lions Den, which is found in Daniel chapter 6 in the Bible. We are all familiar with this story but here a quick refresher: Now, King Darius was impressed with Daniels wisdom. Daniel and two others were chosen to supervise the high officers and protect the kings interests. Since Daniel proved himself to be more capable then the other high officers and administrators , the king made plans to place Daniel over the entire empire. This made the other officials so jealous that they tried to make a way for Daniel to do something against the laws of his God he prayed to. They certainly found no fault in Daniel so they tricked King Darius into issuing a ruling that for the next 30 days no one should pray to any other god, but only to the king himself. Regardless, Daniel continues to pray three times a day like he normally does every single day. So because Daniel was breaking the kings ruling, he was sent to the lions den.
Now, here is a turning point for Daniel. He didn’t do anything wrong but was tricked into getting thrown into a den of hungry lions. He was pressured on all sides and really had no way to get out of this one. How are you doing today? How do you feel with all that you are going through today and right now? Are you feeling pressured on all sides? Regardless of what anyone has said to you (especially contrary to the Word of God), accusations through people etc, have you kept up with praying, worshiping, and reading the Bible like you normally would?
Can you imagine the pressure that Daniel was physically under? He didn’t even hesitate after he heard that ruling and continued his normal prayers and connecting with God. He knew Gods promises. He knew what His God can do for Him. He knew God is faithful. He knew if He continued to obey God, then God will follow through with His part. He knew who his God was and there was no question.
Now, let me ask you, Do you know what your Heavenly father can do for you? Do you know your Heavenly father is faithful? Do you know that if you continue to obey Him, then He will follow through with His part? Do you know who your Heavenly Father is with no question?
Lets go back to the the story. After Daniel gets thrown into the lions den, he continues to do what his “natural instincts” tell him to. That is to pray and to call out on the name he knew would indeed answer, help, and save him. He prayed in the midst of some hungry fierce lions.
So right now you are faced with all kinds of pressures, what are you doing about it today? There are hungry lions surrounding you to devour you. They want to find that hole in your armor! They want you to fall for it and give them legal access for entry! So what are you going to do about it?
1 Peter 5:6-9
“6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers[b] all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.”
Back to the story again: So early the next morning the king hurried to where the lions were penned. King Darius says, “Daniel, Daniel has your God protected you?” Then Daniel answered, “The Lord send His angel to stand beside me, and the lions left me untouched.” King Darius was overjoyed at hearing this.
So you are sitting in the lions den right now. It is a “Daniel in the Lions Den” moment. What do you chose to do in this time and season of God?
You have two choices:
- continue to choose to handle it the way YOU want to OR
- go to your true source in prayer, during this time allow God to reveal to you the strategy that He says is best for you, and then APPLY it too.
The enemy may be putting pressure on you from every side, but guess what you may have overlooked or forgotten about for a moment ? There are so many more angels on your side helping you than all the powers of darkness that are trying to throw you off course!
Psalm 91:9-13
“9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!”
Jesus loves you! Call out on that name you know will save and help you. This is your Daniel moment! Arise and allow the Holy Spirits flow to come forth from you! Read the bible, pray, and worship daily! These are things that should come naturally as the breath that comes in and out of your mouth. These things are not a chore and the bible is not a novel! It is the living word of God and it will divide your fleshy attitudes, fleshy thoughts and ways. The living Word of God will refresh your soul like a person that has been super thirsty sitting on a desert with no water at all. IT WILL QUENCH YOUR THIRST! Don’t look down, look UP! For you ARE seated in the Heavenly Places!
PRAYER:
Jesus, I pray that you touch this child of God right now where they are. I cover them with the blood of Jesus from the tops of their head to the souls of their feet now! Touch their heart and bring healing right now! Every wall that has tried to come up before this child of God to block them from seeing through your eyes, I decree and declare those wall come tumbling down from the root NOW in Jesus name! I pray that you will align this child of God with your plans for this hour right NOW! I pray in Jesus name that this child of God will absolutely not miss their prophetic moment that is coming up now! Every fiery dart of the enemy, every ungodly assignment, every unrighteous prayer, every ungodly spoken word, right now is broken off and its affects are broken NOW in Jesus name! Pour out your Holy devouring fire from the Heavens over this child of God right now! Refresh this child of God right now! You O God, touch them right where they are at and give them exactly what they need right now! You O God, touch this child of God and anoint their head with oil and their cup shall overflow! I ask in Jesus name, a supernatural release over this child of God of your strength, peace, love, joy, your strategies, your clarity, revelations, confirmations from you right now in Jesus name! Release the oil of gladness over this child of God right now! Satan comes to steal kill and destroy, but you O God come to give life and life more abundantly! I call forth your promises according to the written word of God into existence right now! Destroy all the plans of Satan over this child of God. Everything I have asked, I have asked in the mighty name of Jesus, and I accept it in no other way but fully received right now! You are faithful! You are Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi, THE Great I AM! All the praise honor and glory be unto you alone!
