Towards the end of last year, I went through an extremely difficult and unique health situation. I must say that I learned a whole lot through all of it. As difficult as it was, I must say I rejoice in it gladly! One of the major things I learned was how I allowed the regular things in life over time to re-prioritize my daily tasks. Gods word is sharper than any double edged sword and it does go forth and do its work. So in that moment, God’s Word and His rod of discipline hit me harder than it ever had before. I felt shipwrecked like Paul.
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. – Hebrews 4:12
My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. – Proverbs 3:11-12
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a]Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people;[c] then you won’t become weary and give up. 4 After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.
5 And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children?[d] He said,
“My child,[e] don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t give up when he corrects you.
6 For the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”[f]
7 As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? 8 If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. 9 Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?[g]
10 For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. 11 No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
12 So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. 13 Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.” – Hebrews 12:1-12 NLT
So, the action I needed to take was repent of my disobedience to God, ask for forgiveness, and yield 100% to God. I did just that. The choice I made was to fully surrender my entire will, soul, emotions, heart, and mind to our Heavenly Father. It was a moment of realization that I wasn’t in the secret place (personal prayer time) the way I was when I first got saved in 2004. I realized that it turned into me getting into the flow of my day and if I had time for God then I would spend it.
I am here to tell you that this is wrong! This heavily convicted me and came down like a sword!
Learn to give the first fruits of your day to our Heavenly Father and then go about your day.
“Seek the Kingdom of God[e] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” – Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God FIRST! The next step is to apply all He teaches you and is written in the Word of God (live righteously), and then as He is faithful to complete His promise God WILL give you everything you need.
Do NOT forsake the secret place!
Again, I am here to tell you to follow Gods instructions very carefully. Many times we are walking in disobedience to God and we get so far away that we are blinded and cannot even see that we are walking along with the darkness and not as the light we are called to be.
“ Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2
This passage clearly says NOT to copy the behavior and customs of this world. Yet, we go along with the flow of the world does and then we go to God and say, “where are you? why did this happen to me? why am I struggling so much constantly? what is going on?” Ask God to increase your spiritual discernment that you may know the difference of whatever it is you are going through.
I am here to tell you that disobedience to God has consequences.
Many times we are not ready to admit we are in disobedience to God. We don’t even want to hear it. So, we just brush it under the carpet where it piles up hoping it will remain out of sight. In reality, its building up and because you didn’t let it go, it has been slowly eating away at you from the inside. Eventually, it gets to a point where we cannot handle it and it manifests through emotions. We then deal with things like bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, slander, etc. If this is not taken care of, then we open the doors to deal with depression and oppression.
“30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own,[e] guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” – Ephesians 4:30-32 NLT
Do NOT forsake the secret place!
We deal with the consequences of our own actions and then blame our ever so wonderful, merciful, and full of nothing but love God. Jesus loves you! Let me say it again:
Jesus loves you! He will leave you or forsake you and never did.
“6 So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT
Come back! Come back to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith!
Prayer/decree: I command your will, soul, and emotions will submit the Holy Spirit that lives in you NOW! I command, that your heart and mind aligns with Heaven NOW! I call forth Gods plans for you to manifest NOW! Jesus, I ask you to activate, command, release and send a host of your Holy Heavenly Angels to surround this child of God reading right NOW! I decree and declare a Heavenly shift and alignment to take place in the life of this child of God reading, NOW! I cover this child of God with the blood of Jesus from the tops of their head to the souls of their feet NOW! I decree and declare over this child of God that there is power in the blood of Jesus to break every chain that holds you captive! I decree and declare that every chain that has held you captive and bound breaks NOW! I decree and declare that you will walk in the authority of Christ like never before and stand to fulfill your calling, purpose and destiny that has already been decreed over your life NOW! I call forth a new revelation of your identity in Christ to release over you NOW! In the name of Jesus I seal this prayer. Amen.
Word of the Lord that started suddenly flowing at 9am today:
“Its time child of God! Arise! Arise for your time has come. You have been prepared for a time such as this. I am activating my Esthers, Deborahs, and Joshuas. Arise for your time has come. Come to me all who are weary and I shall give you rest. Look to me the author and finisher of your faith! Fix your eyes on me and run this race marked out for you with perseverance. Come now! Come to the sphere of influence that I have called you to! Let my Word be a lamp unto your feet. I will never leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous for I am about to part the waters! Hear the cry of my heart and lead them through. Be my light in this darkness. For a little while, you felt as though I left you in the dark. It is in the dark and through the pressure that diamonds are formed. Arise! For your time is here and you are about to shine! “
Receive it child of God! for the cross has the final Word for your life!
“6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” -2 Timothy 1:6-7 NLT
Now, going back to the extreme health situation, this time in my life caused me to re-prioritize my life. The scriptures released to you here today, I chose to surrender to it all 100%. I asked God to rekindle my fire and to bring back in increase a hunger and thirst for Him and His Word like never before. Over this summer, I can say right now that I have changed. It only happened after I yielded myself to God and chose to have the reverent fear of God rule my life. I went back to my secret place DAILY and since then have been having nothing but encounters with God in ways I had never experienced before. I am beyond overwhelmed by His love, grace, and mercy.
The Word of God has all the guidance, advice, encouragement, etc. that you need. If He can do it for me, He can do it for you. The choice however lies in your own hands. Be blessed child of God.
